Sweet and spicy tofu
This is one of my favourite ways to make tofu and it is SO quick and easy to do. I love serving it in a nourish bowl, with noodles or in a wrap (like so).
Makes 1 serve
Ingredients:
- 150g firm tofu
- 2 tbsp corn flour
- 1 tsp vegan chicken stock powder
- 1 tbsp rice bran oil/vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp gochujang
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
Method:
1. Cut tofu in pieces (whatever shape/size you prefer, I personally like cutting it into triangles).
2. Place tofu into a container with corn flour and vegan chicken stock powder. Place the lid on and shake to coat the tofu well.
3. Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat on the stove. Add oil, once oil is hot carefully add tofu.
4. Fry tofu for 10 minutes, flipping once to ensure both sides become golden.
5. Combine soy sauce, gochujang and maple syrup in a small jar. Reduce the frying pan heat to low, and pour the sauce over the tofu. Mix, coating all of the tofu well, and fry up for a further 3-4 minutes.
6. Serve as desired, and enjoy!
